Services

What is the first step, and how does advocacy work?

Screening

The first step is a confidential, no-cost, consultation. An informal screening is done to determine the best course of action.

Treatment

The action may include recommendations to attend professional educational courses, a formal evaluation from an outside service provider, treatment at a center with professionals track program, or regular meetings with MPHP+ case managers and psychotherapy/psychiatric visits.

Monitoring

Monitoring occurs when an assessment indicates that a healthcare professional is experiencing an illness that could benefit from long-term, ongoing, and therapeutic support. MPHP+ provides oversight of treatment progress and aftercare programs, it is critical to the participant’s success. Standard monitoring length can be from one to five years. It is dependent upon individual needs.

  • Documented participation in support groups

  • Toxicology testing

  • Feedback from work monitors

  • Oversight of therapy as recommended

  • Recurrent therapeutic appointments with the assigned Case Manager

  • Regular contact with an Addition Medicine physician and/or Addiction Psychiatrist

Advocacy

Advocacy is on-going support for you. We remain available to you throughout the monitoring process. You are not alone. We are independent of licensure agencies such as the Board of Healing Arts and the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs. We do have a strong working relationship with them. We attend appearances with you and write various times of letters on your behalf. MPHP+ is strictly confidential, any disclosure by the MPHP+ requires the participants written permission.

Education & Outreach

MPHP+ offers Virtual and In-Person Educational Presentations

Informing medical professionals about the issues we address and the services we render is an integral part of our mission. The MPHP+ offers virtual educational presentations for universities, hospitals, medical societies, and other healthcare professional organizations.

With mental issues stemming from the current environment, it is more important than ever to educate our healthcare community on the valuable resources available. The MPHP+ believes early intervention, evaluation, treatment, and monitoring offer the best opportunity for successful outcomes.

Some topic covered in a presentation include:

  • Physician well being

  • Potentially impairing illnesses

  • Disruptive behavior

  • Depression

  • Stress

  • The role of the MPHP+ in the healthcare Community
