The Physician Lifeline May 2024
Overcoming Addiction In Residency & Fellowship
Interview by Frances Mei Hardin, MD
Courtney Barrows McKeown, MD, is a dynamo. She’s everything you would want and expect in a surgeon: confident, articulate, acutely self-aware. Her movements are deft and self-assured. Help Our Healers 2023 Annual Fund Drive
Contributions make MPHP programs and services available to all Missouri physicians, residents and students.
Together we can Help our Healers.
The MPHP is excited to announce an expansion of services in 2024.
In addition to physicians, the MPHP is now available to serve all Missouri healthcare professionals.
Our mission remains the same — the MPHP helps distressed healthcare professionals struggling with mental health issues, addiction, or behavioral health issues.
This includes disruptive behavior, boundary violations, sexual misconduct, licensure issues, family related issues, end-of career transition and physical illness.
We advocate for, and support, those in need of our services.
We are not punitive or judgmental; instead, we are compassionate and understanding. Our goal is to facilitate a return to both a healthy personal and professional life for those we serve.
The MPHP does not receive any public funding. We are a 501(c)(3) organization, meaning we depend entirely on client fees and, more importantly, donations from individuals and interested organizations.
Additional services are expensive, and we could not continue to provide this much needed assistance without your generous support. We are beyond grateful for our community partnerships.
Please consider a donation, or an increase in your contribution this year. Your generosity is your gift to the community. If you would like to donate, please send to:
